Server Status

Whether the site is up, and how quickly it responded

What it is

Checks whether the server is reachable, what status code it returns, and how long it took to answer. That time splits into finding the server in DNS, connecting, the TLS handshake, waiting for the server, then downloading the page.

Why it matters

A baseline. If this one fails, most of the other checks are measuring nothing.

How this assessment works

Skopeon Labs queries public infrastructure signals and authoritative network protocols directly from external sensor nodes. All evaluations are completely non-invasive and agentless, assessing observable configurations without sending malicious payloads or disrupting service.

Operational Scope & Limitations

This check evaluates public perimeter responses observable at the time of inquiry. Endpoints protected behind third-party reverse proxies or CDNs reflect the edge configuration of the proxy layer.

Key terms

Response Time
How long the server takes to answer. A slow first response delays everything else on the page.
HTTP Status Codes
The three-digit number a server sends with every response: 200 means OK, 301 a redirect, 404 not found, and 500 a server error.
